They're making a big deal out of a software update?

Yeah, because Apple NEVER has a software update. :D

Apple PR is working overtime this holiday season with Kindle FUD.

That's some good stuff right there. I find it hilarious that the blog author wrote with a straight face how people were unhappy with the purchase because of the screen size ... as if that was a mystery to them before buying it.

We have an iPad and probably 5 different versions/sizes of iPods, so I'm not an Apple-hater. But it's crap like this that makes me wish death on everything Apple and all Apple-tards who can't sleep at night with the belief that another company maybe, just maybe, has a quality product.

Yeah, it sounds like the biggest criticism of the Fire is that it's not an iPad. Well, duh...

The iPad is better... Well, duh...

If I buy a Hyundai, I don't expect it to be a Mercedes.

Same deal. You can skip storage on some server controlled by Amazon or Google or Apple, and just connect your Android phone directly to your computer and move stuff on and off.

I don't have an issue with cloud space, per se. But if you have 20 gigs of music, let's say, it is going to take several days of uninterupted uploads to get all of your music uploaded over the typical cable or DSL line. To me, why go that way, when you can just connect directly to your computer and move stuff on and off quickly?

Loved the comment that said the story had to be edited to remove "sent from my iPhone" from the bottom of it.

I've seen this same story in just about all the major national pubs now. But considering all the user reviews and comments out there are overwhelmingly positive it doesn't add up. The Fire isn't an iPad and doesn't strive to be and as I've said before there are a lot of people out there that want something like that. Guess that's hard to accept in our Apple-centric world.

I'll bet Apple has a stripped down iPad on the market for $300 within the next year.

In the comments, someone said something about "a free app a day"

Does anyone know anything about that? What are the restrictions?

Go to the Amazon app store and they have a free app of the day. Today it's "Helium Boy," normally $1.99.
