Anyone have dual citizenship?

    Has the US always recognized dual citizenship?

    Not sure it always has, but it does somewhat begrudgingly.

    Generally speaking, there is no "recognition" of dual citizenship. If you're in the U.S., you're a U.S. citizen, period. You would not, for example, be able to claim Canadian consular assistance if you were arrested, and you'd still be subject to the U.S. draft. Obviously, you'd be able to go live in Canada if you got drafted, but if you came back, you wouldn't get any special treatment because you were Canadian.
