Here I thought we were early tonight and now I get to sit around for two hours to wait for the press to run. Not that I had plans but there are nine bottles of Weinhard's Northwest Trail sitting in my refrigerator awaiting their inevitable demise.

Tommy, I think we have the same boss.

 

I wish I was working. Went out with friends to a nice Portuguese restaurant in Newark, NJ; one of said friends gets pathetically drunk and yells at his g/f; they bring out a motherfucking, goddamn birthday cake for me (my fucking day is the 2nd), a fight practically erupts in the party bus on the way to the bar and I lose my keys to my car in some stupid bar, so I can't start it without the keyless entry. Yeah, good fucking New Year's. And I didn't even get drunk, just slightly buzzed and extremely pissed off.

 

Rang in NYE with my inaugural agate shift. w00t.

Shipped the page about 40 minutes before deadline, got the eff out of the office and headed to a friend's house where we watched fireworks on tv and ate ice cream.

Came home about 12:30 and went to bed. Slept till noon.

Now *that's* a new years eve.

I worked both New Year's Eve and Day. Had to stay for the late NBA games, one of which had a local team that required an optional which didn't move until 1:30 a.m.

Our paper had normal deadlines even on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so I didn't get out before midnight either night.

 

Did you bring your Xanax?

Oh and after work I went to a bar to meet a friend, had to fight through, arguably, 600 people, probably more, had three beers, watched some short Indian dude try to dance with two of my friends (girls) and went home shortly after the ball dropped and played some Madden 07.
