What, were there 11 entries this year?

    Congrats, dude.

Another critique of my self-worth. Kidding...sort of. Congrats to all the winners, those who I know especially.

Hack22, how can you type and pat yourself on the back at the same time?

ETA on the rest of the winners, anybody? Or of another take of winners?

    We
Well, it's barely past breakfast time out there. ... I'm guessing they have a hectic half-day of work ahead of them.

Pringle, relax man. This is not the most important thing in the world...or even in the journalism business.

This is not validation of whether you or your product is any good. It is simply a beauty contest skewed toward those papers whose SEs are more active in APSE.
I also saw a list of the judges and there is at least one guy I know in there who wouldn't know good writing, good design or good newspaper work from a hole in the ground.
So please, stop stressing and take these "nice to win but not that important" awards with a grain of salt.

And you guys tell ME to lighten up? :)

Oh, and congrats to your "friend," Hack22.

  8. Hack, the staff cuts in Dallas didn't take effect until late in the year. A better barometer of how they're surviving would be to check back next year. Same thing happened two years ago after the first round of staff cuts. Missed the Triple Crown the following year.

But no mistake, there are talented people there. Just stretched pretty thin.

    Thanks for the research.
Only 1 paper with a circ under 20,000 (and barely under 20,000) placed in the top 10.
Those category changes need to happen.

OK - I didn't realize they were in California. I was thinking Florida for some reason and that it was later in the day. My sincere apologies for seeming impatient. I must have come off like a real dick.

There has been some talk, Patchs, that there wil be category changes next year.... at the top and maybe the bottom.
Not enough 250+ so it might change to 200+

You just came off as a little hyper, Pringle.

Hack22 came off as a real dick!
