Rachel is a very good girl, I consider her a friend, and she was very appreciative of this honor when I spoke with her earlier this afternoon.

I wish people would let shit go every once in a while. She doesn't deserve the snide posts.

 

On the positive side, trying to make sense to this bunch of dolts must have prepared her to win the explanatory journalism award.

Fenian, I was referring more to our pal Furry, who felt the need to single Rachel out for no discernible reason other than to ... well, be an asshole.

 

I know the story that won, and it was a deserving one.

Thanks for posting the list here first. I had the honor of being the first to call and congratulate one of my friends on her first APSE. She didn't believe me.

I'd probably out myself if I gave a list of specific winners who I want to pat on the back, so I'll just say, "Great job, all y'all!"

Like a lot of papers their size, though, their news hole has been whacked (especially M-Saturday) and they haven't been allowed to fill some of the openings they've had in the last year. Therefore, the product has to eventually suffer.

 

I just need to say congrats to Rial Cummings from Missoula, under-40,000 columnist. Yea!

And props to Jeff in Bozeman as well.
