  1. Actually, it's the people trying to villainize the hit who are unbelievable, or they know nothing about hockey. I thought it was an illegal hit on first look, but when I watched the replay, I don't know how anyone with eyes can call it dirty. That was a great hockey hit, and the reporter involved was 100% wrong. Further, right or wrong, you've got to ask the question and leave your opinion out of it. He didn't do his job.

Fittipaldo no longer appears to be the expert he previously claimed to be. This is from Sunday's edition of his paper:

Sutton's hit knocked Leopold unconscious for a short time, and Leopold needed assistance leaving the ice. Replays of the hit show Sutton's elbow and/or arm striking Leopold's head.

Elbow and/or arm? Sounds like somebody's not sure any more, but doesn't want to completely lose face. He's also not clear on whether he's referring to the upper arm or the forearm. Fittipaldo's colleague Dave Molinaro thinks he knows, though. This is from Monday:

However, it certainly looked as if Sutton drove his forearm and/or elbow into Leopold's head, and Leopold clearly was unconscious by the time he hit the ice . . . Whether malice played a role in the check, only Sutton knows.

Drove his forearm and/or elbow into Leopold's head? Now, I like the Penguins, but that's just an outright lie. Garbage. These are fanbois disguised as reporters. Either tell the truth or get out of the business.

Dave Molinari, (not Molinaro as you referred to him) was awarded the Ferguson Award and honored by the Hockey Hall of Fame this past June.
He is far from a "fanboi disguised as a reporter."
Dave is one of the most professional, and honest, people in our business.

    Sorry for my mistake. Molinari.

But I don't care who he is or what his accomplishments are. What he wrote is still a crock of shit.

Anybody who, after watching all of the available replays, suggests Sutton "drove his forearm" into Leopold's head is not being honest.

    Oh, please.
You see players get boarded like that at least once or twice a game. Did you see the one that happened to Dupuis a month or so ago?
Was there an unfortunate result to Malkin's hit? Of course. Was it worth a boarding penalty? Absolutely. Dirty -- on the level of what Sutton did?
    Who's the fanboy now?

    Ho, ho, ho.
Now I've got Molinari on my side.
He's been covering hockey for 30 years and in the Hall of Fame for doing it.
    He is an expert!

please just another Pittsburgh shill, you're clueless when it comes to this sport.

So all the people who actually know hockey outside of Pittsburgh are wrong? Yeah, you're no fanboy. Sutton's hit was completely within the rules,Malkins wasn't. It was deemed clean enough that the league didn't even review it and nobody with an ounce of hockey knowledge outside of Pittsburgh knows this.

Hits from behind and boarding are both a hell of a lot more dangerous than the clean hit Sutton threw. Those can end careers and even lives. Leopold just needed some smelling salt, and I bet he'll never skate up ice through the neutral zone with his head down again.
The fact that you're downplaying boarding and are outraged by this is just hilarious.

PTI: Two more jump on board the "Sutton should have been suspended" wagon.
They showed the hit again. And it's still garbage.
I love that you call Molinari "a shill."
That's beautiful. Tells me all I need to know.

2 guys again who know shit about hockey. So if you want to line up with the PTI guys go right ahead. I can give you a list of a hell of a lot more the 2 PTI guys that say it was clean and these people actually know and follow hockey.

Don't know Mollinari, but he acted like a shill.

So if that tells you all you need to know, please tell me what you now know. I would love for you to teach me something about the game. I'm sure with your years of experience playing and coaching you could teach me a thing or two.

And what we know of you is that you have zero objectivity when it comes to anything Pittsburgh.
