Plus you had a ton of Knicks, Bulls and Hawks games.

In Western PA, I had the Ohio affiliates who showed the Cleveland NFL fanbase their games, the Pittsburgh NFL fanbase their games, all the Mets, Cubs, Braves, Knicks, Bulls and Hawks games. I had far more sports programming back then than I do today, and also did not have the Yankees and Red Sox shoved down my throat every week.

And Sportscenter actually showed more highlights than BS "what if..." crap.

    Those were the glory days.

I thought Lange was absolutely hysterical. Joe Buck is a sanctimonious douchebag and his show was terrible. Lange was told to be outrageous and he lit him up. Good for him.

Heard the local radio guys talking about this, and one of them indicated that Lange had actually been hired by the show as a contributing writer before appearing as a guest. Anybody else heard/read this?

Also, Howard Stern is famous for getting his sidekicks/fans to torpedo talk shows/press conferences. Wonder if he put Lange up to this?

I guess you are referring to stuttering interviewers and the like from Stern's show...when was that, 1995?

In this case, Joe Buck's producers put him up to it...they were in on it. Both shows get publicity, and hopefully someone watches Buck's godawful show.

Now Mad Dog is trying to leverage the whole event to garner ratings for his sinking show.

Artie has called in a bunch of times and made fun of Buck

I agree completely. I listened to the whole show today and he did some dumb contest with hookers, but the rest of the show was fantastic.

He is the best interviewer out there.

The best line of the night...

Oh, please. The glory days are in your head, like when everyone went to college for four years and basketball players could all make 15-foot jumpers and free throws. The only way you don't have more sports programming today is if you have the exact same cable package you had back then. Or rabbit ears.

The ESPN family alone gives you more sports programming than you had back then; add in the Fox regional networks, and it's not even a contest.

Any one of the Extra Innings/Sunday Ticket/Center Ice/Full Court packages, not to mention the channelsurfing.net sites or the MLB/NFL/NHL networks or Tennis/Golf channels, makes this a complete landslide.

You really need to put more thought into your posts.

And I haven't even mentioned the MLB iPhone app. :D

Apparently, HBO took the videos off YouTube. Anyone have a secondary link?
