I do question anyone's judgment in willingly moving to Detroit, especially with the economy in the dumper.

    Nonetheless, good luck to Patrick.

Granted, you get tornadoes in Lubbock, but you don't have to regularly shovel out from a foot of snow.

If you are qualified enough to work for the second-largest paper in Michigan, it doesn't matter how bad the economy is. The dollar would go further in the housing market.

Someone was looking for confirmation on the moves in Detroit. I have received this information from Ruben Luna for this month's edition of the APSE newsletter:
Matt Charboneau has been promoted to an Assistant Sports Editor at The Detroit News, where he will serve as a news/slot editor. Matt joined The News in May 2006 as a sports copy editor. Named Patrick Gonzales copy editor beginning March 10. Patrick comes to The News from Lubbock, Texas, where he has served as Sports Editor of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal since 2003.

If there's no self-outing, I did one mo-fo of a rule break about five weeks ago.
    Shame on me. I apologize.

I'm not Mike Harris. I didn't mean it.
