I didn't realize we had an approved list of things to talk about. ;) Besides, it was the first time in months I've done my nails ... ball season and all. And I always share my colour choice with Cadet.

Oh and IJAG ... check it: http://twitter.com/maksimc

Oh shut it. I just meant we were talking about purses and halloween costumes, and suddenly you just said @cadet, vodka and caviar.

So I thought maybe I missed something where she asked for nail polish suggestions.

At least you knew it had to do with nail polish, IJAG.

To me, Flash and 21 were speaking jibberish, then you busted out nail polish from thin air.

I knew the Vodka and Caviar, so I googled 21's. It's beautiful.

Nice choice, AMac. Good fall color. I'm rockin' OPI's She's Golden on both the fingers and toes. It's a silver shimmer base with a light gold sheen, so it's the perfect two-tone 'warm' silver. Was so happy to find it.

I threw out a bunch of pots last night. I don't know how I ended up with blues and light purples. They don't hold up as well on toes and I tend to not polish my fingernails.

    It's whining time...

For the past few months, it's been a constant whirl of running teens, work, running teens, work - you get the idea. So, this weekend, for the first time in I don't know HOW long, I actually have a weekend where I don't have to have kids where when, I should be able to catch up on STUFF (laundry, my side business, housecleaning)...

and I feel like CRAP! Earache that's been close to bringing me to tears, stuffed nose, throat a bit sore ... it's NOT FAIR! (Don't tell my kids I said that, all those years of telling them 'life's not fair, deal with it' will come back and haunt me.)

K, back to nail polish. If I get over the dizzy spells, I hope to redo my nails tomorrow night.

Sounds like instead of doing STUFF you should just lay down and tell everyone else to STUFF IT. Go take a nap. We'll be here when you get back. 8)

I haven't moved much off the couch today - and three different times, I actually fell asleep.

Each time, a hubby or teen woke me up.

"Oh, were you sleeping? I'm sorry."

    *sigh*

At least the earache isn't quite as bad as it was earlier.

I did my nails for the first time in months last night ... alternating green and yellow. :-D They look pretty badass, IMHO.

Ok, now I feel like I contributed appropriately to this section of the thread.

I don't want to start a new thread or anything but I hope this gets Ducky's attention. I'll probably have a pretty good schedule but would love to meet you when I'm there for Christmas.

I might have nails worthy of polish if I can keep from chewing them for another couple of weeks. I put clear nail hardening stuff on, but unfortunately the one really kick-azz nail (which has served as my inspiration) already started peeling. Hopefully I'll still meet my goal of a manicure for the state soccer finals, and again at Christmas.

Any idea how to quit biting? I know it's a disgusting habit, and I really love having manicured nails. But even the nasty-tasting stuff -- or the strengthener, which makes me ill if I chew my nails when polished -- hasn't worked very well.
