helps if the shiny golf shirt or sweater has a prominent or pseudo-prominent name as well. Something with the word "Dunes," or "Pines," or "Plantation," in it.

Earmuffs and overcoat, apparently, judging from the whining by ESPN. :)

Yeah, it's pretty damn cold, like maybe coldest Masters ever (they say). Still, having done this a few years, I'm always shocked at how nappy many of the media guys show up here.
And it's true, you should wear your golf spikes to earn any sort of credibility. Seriously.

How the hell does wearing golf spkies give you credibilitity?
It's like wearing a fire suit in the pits at an auto race...

My boss once saw an older media man quasi-cry when they pulled his credentials ... for running. Technically, according to my boss, he was speedwalking.

They don't fuck around down there.

Can't tell if The Franchise is being serious or not, but I have seen reporters wear golf spikes covering tournaments before. Some clubs do appreciate it because they doesn't chew up the course. I remember one Canadian Open at a private club where members wanted almost everyone to wear them.

I dont have a problem if someone wears spikes to cover an event. I understand the comfort and all.
But I dont understand the crdibility factor...

I'll wear whatever I goddamn well want into any one of those golf places, I will not remove my ball cap, I will not put on an oxford. Piss on you.
