I don't know what the public wants. I don't have this information.

But my unwillingness to make up an argument based on information that I don't have doesn't mean that you win using the argument you made up.

What I do understand is that there is no generic "public" and no generic "media."

Need and want are different.

I think the public always wants as much information as possible. I think the public is smart enough to handle all the information that the media -- or the cops -- have.

But some here, are worried about the conclusions certain people will draw if they're given information, and so they seek to withhold it from them.

That's not entirely true. They're more than happy to provide red meat to black racists and will do their best to create the perception of a racial situation where none exists if it feeds that side of the argument.

A lot of truth to this, no doubt, but it's often well-founded based not on skin culture but on economic and educational status. Look at any country and you're always going to find more crime and more violent crime at the lower end of those scales, regardless of whether it's a melting pot like here or just one large extended family of white folks like Ireland.

Jesse Jackson did tweet he frowned upon the incident and called it senseless violence.

Retweeters have bitched about him using "frowned upon."

As far as I can tell, Chris Lane's parents have not called the attack racial (have seen nothing)

Pat Buchanan blames a "de-christianized America"

MSNBC's Joy Reid and select others have played the "if you ask about this being racial" you are race-bating card.

Keith Ablow blames Facebook

Readers of Daily Kos said it is tragic that these three boys lives are now ruined.

The shooters were arrested a few hours after the event...I have seen differing accounts of how they were arrested and where.

The parents of the two charged with murder say their sons were good boys.

Vine video of one of the shooters shows him pointing a rifle and then flashing what is said to be a crips sign.

One of the shooter's twitter contained comments that expressed hatred and distrust of whites especially after the Martin case.

No reports have come out showing Lane had any ill doings in his past.

I have avoided posting in this cesspool, but damn, THIS IS EXACTLY RIGHT, and didn't want it to be passed by unnoticed.

Our email has been nauseating. These are the same people who email or post comments every time we report a crime story screaming that we're not posting the name of the suspect "because you're protecting the goddamn illegals! You know that's who did it!"

By the way, I'm tired as fuck of all the emails demanding to know why the media is ignoring this story. The media is not ignoring this story, at all.

We're now seeing the blow back.
