How was the victims targeted? He was running down the street they happened to be on. He takes a different route, he's alive and somebody else is dead.

And the boredom motive sprang forth from the initial AP report, likely done via a phone call from the OKC bureau to Duncan. It's not like there was a press briefing with dozens of reporters.

The chief said that was what one of the suspects told him. While there might be another motive, I find it difficult to believe it was a gang intiation since it happened in Podunk, Okla.

Upon further review, the failure to arrest Zimmeman on Day 1 was the correct decision. His arrest was motivated to placate angry calls of racism of the police and Mr. Zimmerman's alleged racist motivation, heightened by NBC doctored 911 recording. The Rev Al and his network, in efforts to gin up viewers and the Rev Al's profile as the incitor of racial temsions and violence,( see Queens, NY and Tawana Brawley) concoted a story that infered Zimmerman went after Martin due to race. The network journalist Rev Al stood with Martin's family in efforts to get Zimmerman arrested, without regard to evidence or investigations. His aquital of all charges proves conclusively that Mr. Zimmerman ought not to have been arrested. That he was not guilty of committing any crime and that labeling him as a criminal and racist was a lie.

So, the 1st time or the 1,000,000th time, his arrest on day 1 or day 444 is a concotcted news story, and a fictional story at that. So when the facts out weight the story, go with the story.

And still, Mr. Delbert and Mr. Lane are dead, but since they couldn't have been he President's grandfather or son or the Attorney General's grandfather or son and MSNBC, NBC and the Rev Al can't ratings over it, it's a Huffington Post story, not a network story

No. Again: It's not a network story because it's already resolved. Suspects identified. Suspects arrested. Open-and-shut murder case. With Zimmerman, there were questions driving the story: Was this or was this not self-defense? Will he or will he not be arrested?

The national media is not going to spend more than a day on the murder of an anonymous 88-year-old or 24-year-old, no matter how many wingnuts on my Facebook feed post memes about it.

So, if the races of the victims and suspects were reversed but the suspects were arrested quickly, it would be a non story? Two innocent black men, one a college athlete and one a War veteran,were killed by teenage white kids, within a week of each other, for no apparent reason, but one of the suspects allegedly said they were bored and looking to kill someone and another suspect posted a tweet saying 90% of black people are nasty, it would be no story on a National level?

The kid obviously had a white friend: Michael Jones.

As hard as it is for self-serious adults to believe, kids sometimes joke with each other. Sometimes, kids even needle each other.

MC, I worked in the business for 30 years. I've seen it first hand -- newsroom rules to not include the race of perpetrators except in rare cases such as seeking an at-large person. It was bullshit then and it's bullshit now.

So you're telling me that if you had that information for the first-day story you wouldn't have included it? The idea that something is relevant only for Day 2, 3 or 4 of a story is ridiculous. If you have it and don't report it, you're doing it wrong.
