And, again, you are talking in these enormous generalities about the "media," comparing stories that bear little resemblance to the other.

Where are these stories getting massive coverage? They barely register in my paper. Bradley Manning's trial got a lot more coverage there than George Zimmerman's.

Here's one from Brooklyn with a lot of questions that no one will ask. A 3 yr old boy gets shot in the head at 3:30 am at his home. His mother was not home at time. Same boy had just recovered from injuries sustained from pit bull attack.

The original story had this information in it, but it's since been removed, and can no longer be found in any Sun Times article on the case:

If it was wrong, I'd expect to see a correction.

It's also not been in any of the Trib's articles. Was it just too stigmatizing to report?

If I had to hazard a guess as to why the Sun-Times removed it, I'd think the spokesman said more than he was authorized to do, especially if there were other children involved? Usually, they just decline to comment due to privacy laws.

The News-Sun article is the original Sun-Times article. The Sun-Times has scrubbed it from it's site. I think that one version of it got missed.

But, the Trib has been all over this story for several days now, and hasn't mentioned it at all.

Why? They've got a DCFS spokesperson on the record.
