You don't understand my point, or you don't understand why the media consistently reported his purchase inaccurately?

I just googled, "did Trayvon Martin buy iced tea," and this was the top result:

    But now I do.

    Nice pull there.

Gotta give it up to the subculture types: creating new highs with cough syrup and sugar galore.

    Good grief, that's idiotic speculation.

    Yes! Yes, that's it.

Either they were lazy, and served as mere stenographers for the partisan media, or they didn't want to read a bunch of "watermelon" jokes in the online comments.

Either way, they all got it wrong consistently.

Look, putting a mistake in something on purpose is a way to find out who is doing their own research, and who is plagiarizing. Map makers, among others, do it.

So, why did everyone repeat this mistake? And, they all did.

It's the former. They could have just said "fruit juice" or something like that if it were the latter.

What is? That he may have bought those to ingredients to make Lean/Purple Frank?

Why? He talks about it on his Facebook page. He was looking for codeine.

What else did he attempt to buy, but was refused by the store clerk?

What did he have the next customer buy for him? What's the significance?

OK, so in one of the most media saturated cases in years, the entire "media" let the narrative be set early on by activists, and ran with it word for word.

And, you wonder why I lump the media together, and see "group think" as a problem?

They dug into Joe the Plumber in less than 24 hours, and gained access to his confidential records. all because he stumped the President.

But, they were uninterested in the facts of this case, and instead concentrated on the narrative, and it's meaning.

You couldn't plant a mistake on purpose any better. The mischaracterization of the drink was made from the beginning, and was repeated throughout the case.

Because they thought it was an irrelevant detail.

I'm not defending it, trust me.

Not a lot of big names involved with tonight's vigil for Islan Nettles:

Does the Times send a reporter? Will Charles Blow write a column?

This happened in Al Sharpton's neighborhood, but I don't see his name, or his organization's name on the poster.

It IS an irrelevant detail, unless it impaired him in some way at the time of the incident. Unless you want to advocate Purple Drank possession as a death sentence. What about the white college kid coming back from the grocery store with whipped cream cannisters?

And, you know, if only the media had reported on this development. Maybe George Zimmerman would be a free man today.
