Because he's going to be arrested for murder. Nobody is denying a murder took place. He was arrested immediately. And he will be arrested again.

I also want to note something very firmly: Just because Trayvon Martin may have been a poor example to seize upon, racial profiling as presumptively violent criminals is still a very real burden on young black men. The problem was not that the issue does not exist. It is that the media strained to use a single story, which are always complicated by shades of gray, to carry the water for an entire social phenomenon.

They are merely getting their ducks in a row on upgraded charges. That's all.

In Zimmerman's case, the question was whether there were even legal grounds to charge him.

This story isn't getting traction because the narrative doesn't work. Having an African-American perpetrator ruins it.

And, btw, the murders in the Matthew Shepard case were arrested shortly after the murder, so that wasn't a part of the call for "justice" in his case.

James Byrd's killers were also arrested. One received the death penalty, one's serving life, and the othe ris on death row. But, that wasn't enough.

Islan was killed because she was black and transgendered. If her killer had been white, that would have been more than enough to warrant national media attention.

But, Trayvon was specifically picked by PR professionals to push the issue.

They wrote a narrative, that resulted in a man nearly losing his freedom, and they attacked anyone who questioned the narrative.

You know, for instance, that if you went on MSNBC and said you think Trayvon was buying the ingredients for purple drank, you would have been vilified for trashing a dead boy, and would have been branded a racist.

It's a hustle, and they use bullying tactics to enforce it.

I don't disagree with you on that. But I also don't think the case is the same as Martin. Again: If George Zimmerman is arrested the night of the shooting, you never hear of Trayvon Martin. The story wasn't salacious enough. We've heard way more about Islan Nettles at this point than we had of Trayvon Martin at this point. There is still plenty of time for the story to blow up. In comparison to Martin at the same time juncture, it already has.

No two stories are exactly the same.

We're closing in on 11 days since she was neaten, and a week since the plug was pulled on her.

Her death has gotten some press coverage, but it is no one's cause.

Let's see if that changes. I don't think it will, because the it doesn't serve anyone's agenda.
