That's part of it, too.

Nettles was a member of an oppressed minority. But it is a tiny and quite unrelatable oppressed minority.

That's not what I said at all.

I said race is often irrelevant to the story, except for those looking to benefit by exploiting it, like racists and race-baiters.

From a media perspective, race is sometimes relevant to the story for the nonracists and non-race baiters, but not often.

Neither is the media letting a PR team construct narrative.

I just think it should be pointed out. And, it would be nice if someone other than Dick acknowledged it.

Instead, I'm told I "don't understand how the media works" by folks who covered high school sports in Podunk. (Not looking at you MC.)

I laid out what happened and proved it.

Most folks here don't know how a story like this develops, and don't want to know. They want to think its organic for some reason.

They had a press conference because their son was dead and the police didn't seem to give a shit. They shamed the police into at least investigating. Without that media effort, there isn't even that.
