I'm not certain YF would advocate reporters speculating about the connection between "fire ass lean" and watermelon cocktail.

I may be wrong, but I think he just doesn't think that reporters should obscure the details in order that readers couldn't themselves speculate about it.

Should it be fire-ass lean? I feel like it should be hyphenated.

    Yes, but I'm directly quoting.

Understood. I just meant for future reference.

YF would certainly "advocate" that reporters get the right, because he thinks it's hugely relevant to the character of the kid who was killed and somehow destroys The Narrative™ the media wants.

He is wrong. The drink, while mistakenly identified at first, has fuck-all to do with anything.

There is a movement not to hyphenate it in order to make Trayvon look like a pyromaniac. It's the Right Wing Narrative.

Right. Except as evidence that people covering the Martin story, with the exception of, I believe, USA Today, did not do their own reporting.

So if Trayvon was indeed a druggie, hooked on fire-ass lean and going home to make more with 2 of the 3 ingredients you need to make the stuff, does that not change anything?

If so, it's because of a mix of laziness, misplaced trust and irrelevance. Not because of a massive media conspiracy to push The Narrative™.

Well, it's basically the difference in involuntary manslaughter and murder. Result may be the same, but culpability differs.

    Hooray.

How do you know he wanted to kill him? What proof do you have that he woke up that morning and decided, "Today, I'm going to kill a black kid?"
