I don't know that the media consciously protects a narrative, knowingly disregarding the facts. I do think that it falls in love with a particular narrative, and approaches it with blinders from that point forward. And I certainly think that it is very disinclined to be pushed on something by right-wing bloggers. I think it's more likely to dig in.

There's a lot of pressure not to vary from that narrative. Again: Steubenville. Phoebe Prince. All sorts of bad reporting there. Look what happened when Venus Williams strayed from the narrative in a tweet about Steubenville, amiright?.

Maybe because Limbaugh isn't a journalist, he's an "entertainer".

We now have learned from Mr Creosote that the crime media has procedures that must be followed with no deviation or room for intuitive reasoning. That's how it works.

No more than the molestation and domestic violence accusations against Zimmerman would have.

Speaking of media-driven narratives, whatever happened to Benghazi being the next Watergate?

  9. What about the narrative you're just a guy who likes to lounge around and bilk his clients by wasting time checking this site when you are supposed to be fixing things? Why isn't anyone asking the tough questions?

    It's only half true.

Calling a can of watermelon fruit cocktail "iced tea" = the media's entire portrayal of Trayvon Martin must be called into question.

Using a picture of a completely different person to make Martin look bad = "It's worth discussing."

I thought one mistake was enough to destroy credibility here? Why is that not the case when the incorrect information makes Martin look worse?
