Zimmerman's skin color wasn't mentioned until 11 days after the shooting. These kids had theirs revealed three days after they allegedly gunned down the baseball player. And that's evidence The Media is covering something up?

The lack of understanding about how coverage of crime stories is the problem. Not a grand conspiracy by The Media.

The Australian victim was killed on Friday, the 16th.

This article on Tuesday, the 20th, by the AP does not mention the race of the killer(s), and they were due in court that afternoon:

It does give a motive -- boredom -- and, apparently that was enough for the AP.

For the mainstream media, naked pictures aren't suitable for many in their audience. And, so, the media makes a determination not to run them, (if they had them).

Now, I'm not sure who would object to knowing the race of the perpetrator of a crime, yet the media has made a determination that the information is unsuitable, and chooses not to tell us.

The media also doesn't note the race of athletes in stories, typically. I admit it: I wanted to know if Anthony Bennett was black or white when he was being talked about as the first pick. Should this be in every story about athletes?

So this is what you want, to be clear, in crime coverage, every time, from here on out:

"John Doe, who is black, shot Joe Doe, who is also black, yesterday in Chicago."

And, Dick, you know this is the case.

iPhones are getting stolen on Michigan Ave., and at Oak Street Beach on a regular basis. White victims are being targeted -- often older folks, and tourists.

The local media does not address the race of the criminals. Why?

They tell us where they're from, and we can surmise from the neighborhood that they are African-American, but why not just tell us?

Race has become a bigger issue as it relates to crime because it became a
bigger part of the political discussion. Always has been there but not to the extent
it is now. In a sense race related crime has become a political pawn used by many to
advance their own agenda's. What's off putting to many are the inconsistencies to
when race is used.

We're told this is why some crimes get more coverage than others, like when a white person kills an African-American. Well, a jogger getting shot at random is also pretty rare.

In an instance like this, people want to know if race could be a motive. Don't they?

I understand what the public wants. I want all the info too.

But I also have worked crime stories in small towns. And crime stories involving juveniles. I understand that in both cases, you aren't getting much info until the arraignment. Up to and including the suspect's skin color.

Look, this is the same BS we see when folks come on here and post, "I hope it was a white person," after a bombing.

They don't want it to be a Muslim terrorist, and they don't want race to be the reason why an African-American might kill a white guy.
