It is more than implied that Negasonic is gay. She introduces Yukio as her girlfriend. But as you said, she wasn't a Marvel Studios character. The Deadpool movies are all about being subversive. Endgame is as mainstream as you can get, and it is certainly no accident that the character interacting with Russo's is Captain America. In many was, Cap is a relic of an era when a gay man would not be so easily accepted.

I think the same is true of the relatively limited role Black Panther plays in both movies. At the very least, Infinity War and Endgame were written before they knew Black Panther would be such a big hit.

I honestly think those actors were clearing out their schedules to devote the next 10 years to Marvel. That’s why we didn’t see more of them.

Plus, we would have wanted to see the ones who are going away.

I'm sure that is part of it as well. This movie is about the original Avengers. That is where the focus needed to be.

Yeah, you can’t blame the acting on the issues with Padme.

I mostly blame the writing, but I think you can also put a little of it on her performance, too.

I gotta admit - it was emotional for me at the end, not because of Stark's death so much, but seeing so many of these movies and realizing there are more than a few people in my life who saw the first Iron Man or or other with me that are no longer around. Eleven years. And seeing all of those actors get a bow was nice stuff, though I did think they would spin it forward some. And it ended with my all-time fave MCU character - Peggy Carter. Agent Carter was a very underrated show.
    Other thoughts:
This might be the only time I go to the movies in the next four or five months - none of the previews quickened my pulse and checking the rest of the list, I think I'll pass.
Does Sam Jackson deserve to get a credit of $1 of this for his career box office record considering he didn't have a line?
Elisabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner and Brie Larson all got "hot" at the right time to get their roles.
The first third seemed like it was a Kenneth Lonergan grief-fest.
I had no thoughts on the time-travel stuff - if you think too much it will mess you up - but I did wonder if some of the "pop culture" references may have been anachonistic considering what all happened.

So much to unpack, but to keep it brief ...
    - Cap wielding Mjolnir is maybe my favorite moment of any comic book movie I've seen (at least it is right now in the immediate aftermath of seeing it.
    - I saw it with my wife this afternoon, so it was a mostly empty theater, but I couldn't help but let out an audible yelp when Spider Man returned. He's my favorite character and it was great to see him swing into action.
    - It was really very funny.
    - We had trailers for Gemini Man, The Long Shot, The Lion King, Star Wars and 21 Bridges (new Chadwick Boseman movie).

For the same reason it got knocked off before he defeated Stane, or Spider Man's mask always gets ripped off before he stops a train ... so we can see the actors emote. It's hard to demonstrate their agony and effort when their faces are completely obscured by a mask.

One more thing to mention because the MCU is just so fucking good...

When Dr. Strange brings the boys, and girls, together to take care of these Thanos fuckos once and for all, there is that huge battle field shot of all the characters and a pause so you can appreciate fully what’s about to go down.

    In the words of Butthead...

“It’s about time someone decided to do it right.”
