Good point. Hopefully he stays so rendered. Unlikely.

I think everybody who crumbled to dust will be back. I was just hoping they would get the Fox deal done soon enough to make Avengers 4 a soft reboot of the MCU, but that didn't happen.

Maybe there will be time to tack on a credits sequence where Thanos is on his farm, looks at the sunset and smiles ... only to have it quickly turn into a frown as the sun is blotted out by Galactus' world ship, thus setting the stage for the next 10-year arc in the MCU.

    100 percent.

It's a comic book movie, people!

  6. Yeah, I don't get weeping over the ending.

It's not like Bruce Willis died? And Ben Affleck lived.
Or the end of Saving Private Ryan. Or Rudy.

Finally saw it and like everyone, it was awesome. Few things - it seems MCU Thor is no longer watered down in terms of strength since Ragnarok. He is finally shown as the badass that he is. And, MCU hasn't really talked about it, but he basically has Odin Force now? Doctor Strange - yes! His spells and such were awesome and glad to see how much he has progressed. Pretty sure all the pre-snap deaths will hold up with maybe Gamora coming back. We'll obviously be seeing Captain Marvel soon, but as someone who knows this story, I am bummed to hear we won't be seeing Adam Warlock. Joe Russo confirmed as of this morning.

I've never been a big fan of the cosmic Marvel Comics and I wasn't reading superhero books at the time of the Infinity storylines, so I really don't know much about Adam Warlock and won't miss him. Apparently, he will end up appearing in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

I agree that seeing Thor in full badass mode was a highlight of Infinity War. I don't think they are really incorporating the Odin Force. It's just a matter of Thor finally fully tapping into his own power and Stormbreaker is more powerful than Mjolnir.

I think they should leave Gamora dead along with the other pre-snap fatalities. If I had to guess, I'd say Steve Rogers is killed and Tony Stark ends up retired by the end of Avengers 4.

I took 4 kids to this last Friday, I have never watched a super hero movie or read a comic. I thought it was excellent.

Iā€™m in shock about how many adults know all about these movies and comics. I have obviously been living in a cave.

I'm not sure I ever read more than a Silver Surfer comic or two that had Warlock in it. It was always treated like a big deal when he showed up, but I never understood why. I started really diving into comics around 1992-93, right after the original Infinity Gauntlet stuff, so maybe I missed his coming out party. Warlock just always pissed me off because I dug the Silver Surfer and he was stealing his screen time.

Anyway, one of my favorite things Marvel ever put out was their Year in Review editions in 1992 and 1993. They were pretty self-deprecating on a lot of fronts, especially the actual year in review write ups. They were written from the point of view of a guy who had to wade through a year's worth of nonsensical comic book nonsense and somehow churn out about 2,000 words of coherent recap of it. For example, each issue of The Punisher was summed up as, "The Punisher killed some people," and it quickly moved on to the next item.
I bought those Year in Review issues new and have kept them all these years. They're fun to go back and look at now that a lot of early 90s comics are being adapted to movies.
Anyway, apparently after Thanos was defeated at the end of the Infinity Gauntlet story line in the comics, Warlock took possession of the Infinity Stones and split them up for safekeeping. Here's what they wrote in the 1992 YIR about the aftermath. Just got a chuckle out of it:

I saw it last night and was sorta bored but for whatever reason kinda like it more this morning.

One nagging issue I have is with the "evolution" of Iron Man's suit. Since when is it capable of morphing into anything and everything with all super powers? I liked it better when it was somewhat mechanical, somewhat reality-based.
