Yes, but you need to scramble the egg. With milk. [/crossthread]

As I mentioned yesterday, I am making this on Sunday for the Super Bowl. I figure it should cost between $15 and $20.

But I am wondering if anyone can suggest other things I could add to the recipe. I was thinking about cheese, but that would get too burnt. Sticking with the pork side of thing I could add ham... maybe. I also contemplated nacho dipping cheese for after. I am completely serious about this. I should be taking some photos and creating a thread about it on Sunday.

If you put the cheese inside, like with the bacon crumbles, it wouldn't burn would it?

Cheese in the middle probably would not burn. It would just be gooey.

Then you could cut a hole in the end and squeeze out the bacony-sausagey cheese for dipping with chips.

How about making this and letting it cool. Then cut a slice about a quarter-inch thick, remove the middle, pop in an egg and cook together in the buttered skillet? You could call it "Clog in the Artery" instead of egg in the hole.

Eat some of this thing and something definitely would happen to your heart. Probably an explosion of the aorta or left descending artery.

On its own - minus cheese or ham: We'll look forward to your appointment with the cardiologist.

With cheese or ham: Hope you've made funeral arrangements.

What the bloody hell does being a conservative have to do with bacon? Holy geez, Simon.

I'm not planning to eat the whole thing. Just want to try it. I eat beef/pork about once a month so I think I'll be okay here. I'll hit the gym in the morning and eat some cheerios for breakfast just to be on the safe side.

Good luck. Take plenty of pictures and buy plenty of Pepto!

Bacon weave completed and seasoned. Italian sausage on top of the weave and seasoned. Inner bacon is being fried up right now. Should be done in about 10 minutes.

Then I gotta drizzle on some bbq sauce, and roll it all up.

From there its 2.5 hours then I have to put more BBQ sauce on it.

When it gets in the oven safely, I may create a new thread and start uploading my pictures.

This is insane... and I need to go find a cup for bacon grease.
