I tell people about Airborne!, and they don’t believe me. I want to say it was perpetually on cable one summer around 1994, and it kind of grew on me.
    — The pantsing scene where Jack Black starting laughing hysterically almost seems non scripted. He seems to be genuinely cracking up.
    — the main character comes home after getting beat up, and his aunt (played by Edie McClurg) comes rushing in mumbling, “don’t be drugs, don’t be drugs.”
    — Edie McClurg saying she needs to buy Seth Green (her son) a cup for hockey, and the dad going, “like the Stanley Cup?”
    — a daydream where one of the jocks imagines bum rushing the main character and driving him out a window.
    — the downhill race at the end is pretty thrilling.

The pool playing is god awful and the script is even worse when you really examine it. Add in ancillary bullshit like Tom Cruise twirling a cue like he’s a majorette while knocking in the all-difficult straight in shot and it’s just not good. A great cast and Scorsese help hide the warts.

    What ever became of him?

Dan Cortese at least got in a full episode of Seinfeld.

Not sure if serious or missing a joke here, but - He's worked steadily the past 20 years, mostly in voice over (especially video games) and "sidekick" kind of roles. He's also the creator of the cartoon "Robot Chicken."

Not a joke. Seth Green was the hot thing 20 or so years ago but sort of faded into obscurity ... unless I'm thinking of another Green. If it's another Green then disregard previous post.

Tom Green? idk. I thought Seth Green was always kind of seen as a supporting role kind of actor, probably because he's 5'4" and looks 5'4." Tom Green is the weirdo alt comic who had his own MTV show, a hit novelty song and one of the most notoriously bad movies of all-time, "Freddie Got Fingered."

Yeah, she's on a short list of actresses who I can watch do just about anything. Just stunningly beautiful.

I remember one summer, maybe 1992, Cortese was in a reboot of Route 66 that was.getting lots of hype. Maybe after Twin Peaks and Northern Exposure everyone was ready for another big summer series. It sunk like a stone.

Tom Green is a bit like Norm Macdonald. His version of comedy is a little out there, and he doesn't seem interested in mainstream success.

Man, I think Norm is way more accessible than Tom, but then again, I'm a big fan of Norm. He strikes me more as a comedian's comedian who tells jokes, like a Rickles, Super Dave, Gilbert Gottfried, etc. I'd slot Tom Green more into the Andy Kaufman category of "I'm going to do something uncomfortable just to see how you react."

I agree, and I'm a huge Norm guy. But they both aren't trying for movies, mainstream success etc. They both seem content with where they have ultimately landed.

I think Green has settled down a fair bit. He's done the podcasting/YouTube show stuff and seems to have a loyal following.
