They walk around the neighborhood getting high?

Well that's the whole fucking point. That -- and worse -- is exactly the kind of shit that goes on in inner cities. If you're a cop and someone is drunk, high, dealing drugs like there are no consequences, are you supposed to mind your own business?

I've seen them on the side of his house sneaking a toke with his buddy. I suppose if I had kids, I'd think differently, but I think it's funny that they think they're being sneaky.

    Morons?

Some of us don't have sticks up our asses. You call the cops if your neighbour is havin a few beers mowing the lawn? Or your neighbour decides to smoke a joint? Hardly a waste of police resources.

It wouldn't be an issue if they hadn't shut down Hamsterdam.

    Mowing the lawn...

LOL. Sounds like the population density of your neighborhood is pretty similar to the poor urban areas we're talking about.

Yeah, I was thinking that as I was responding. If I lived in a building and guys were constantly hanging out on the stairwell smoking pot, I wouldn't like it. But if they were out in a common area, as long as they weren't causing any trouble, I would just look the other way. Like I said, if I was raising kids in that environment, it would probably be different. But I agree with whoever said they think the drug enforcement is excessive. Not for selling or possessions of large amounts. But smoking or possessing a personal amount should not result in arrest. Hell, it's legal in several places.

You asked if you would phone the cops if they were doing it outside your own place.

As Baron said, cite them and move on. And continue increasingly citing them.

I guess we're going to have to rescind the Mother of the Year Award:

I don't think "hardly" means what you think it means. And it's not about having a stick up your ass, it's about understanding what's appropriate, being an adult and having a modicum of respect.

And as for drinking beers while you mow the lawn, who is your neighbor, Cousin Eddie? What kind of fucking back country shithole do you live in?

Pretty surprised that she hasn't been arrested, the way these things are handled these days. I thought it was great. Not sure she was really hitting him, in a violent sense.
