The Yankees need a right-handed hitting one. Anybody have one of those?

Aubrey Huff will not be the worst signing of the winter. You heard it here first.

    B. Zito - Mets
    M. Mulder - Mets
    T. Lilly - Yankees
    J. Suppan - Yankees
    J. Drew - Red Sox
    B. Bonds - Padres - It will be the worst signing of the off-season because he can't play the outfield anymore, full-time anyway, but if you look at whey they're doing, they're making room for a new outfielder, my odds are on Bonds rather than Drew
    J. Schmidt - Cubs - I don't know why but it's real easy for me to picture Schmidt in a Cubs jersey
    A. Huff - Astros
    G. Maddux - Dodgers
    M. Piazza - Dodgers - makes the most sense to end his career there plus the catcher situation there pretty much sucks. He'll back up and have the same type of year

Did you see Russell Martin at all this year?

Piazza still has the bat to start in a time-share like he did this year with Bochy.

  5. Zito - Mets
Mulder - Devil Rays (why not)
    Lilly - Cubs
    Suppan - Cardinals
    Drew - Red Sox
    Bonds - Giants
    Schmidt - Dodgers
    A. Huff - Astros
    G. Maddux - Angels
    M. Piazza - Yankees

    Soriano - Mets
Lee - Oakland (Rangers, if they trade Texiera)
Zito - Mets - easiest one on the list
    Mulder - Giants
    Lilly - Yankees
    Suppan - Cardinals
    Drew - Red Sox
    Bonds - Giants
    Schmidt - Seattle
    A. Huff - Astros
    G. Maddux - Dodgers
    M. Piazza - Yankees
    Glavine - Braves
    Pettitte - Astros
    Luis Gonzalez-Cardinals
    Pierre - White Sox
    Lugo - Red Sox
Trachsel - Pittsburgh (renting till July 31)
    Garciaparra - Yankees

Trachsel to the Pirates. Damn, that's good...and the typical February Pirate signing: Over-the-hill no good guy making much more money than he should make and blocking a young guy for four months.

If they play it right, it's not that bad. Pay him for four months & turn him into free prospects. No need to have a rotation of 5 guys straight out of AA.

Problem is Trachsel is more likely to pitch so poorly they can't move him, a la Jeromy Burnitz this year. And his performance this October should pretty much assure that no contender wants a piece of him come August.

I want to change my vote on Lee. Oakland has no one in that lineup.

How about Hillenbrand. Go on and laugh, but he'd actually be useful in a part-time role.

    I like these Piazza guesses.

    Yankees: Why? Where?

Dodgers: If they re-sign Maddux, they could have the slowest mound to home to second throwing cycle in the history of the sport.
