I love that last part. It would eliminate the assholes refusing to vote for a guy they know is deserving just so nobody gets to be unanimous. Of course, it would never happen, so a few "protectors of the sacred vote" will be leaving Randy Johnson off when he becomes eligible.

I don't doubt it. I'm just saying they are idiots who don't deserve to have a vote.

Hey he won a Cy Young, what the fuck did David Segui and Kevin Appier ever do?

Because he yelled at a photographer in NYC? :)

I'm not defending that Appier vote at all. He's not a Hall of Famer.

That said, I did like to watch him pitch. Unique windup, and he had a few pretty nice seasons.

But it's still funny to see him get a vote.

Dawson should have been in years ago? Other than Perez there aren't too many guys in the Hall who Dawson can compare his numbers too. There are more guys not in the Hall that can compare favorably to Dawson.

If one assclown can't take it seriously, the sum should not be taken seriously.

    Not austerity. Credibility.

It doesn't need to be a papal conclave, but the Appier/Hentgen stuff has been going on for years, and there's a new wrinkle this year with the civil disobedience. None of it is cute.

    Sitting on a vote. Smugly.

This is not the election for third grade class president. Or maybe it is.

  12. Is it not possible that they really didn't feel anyone belonged in? Why is that smug?

I happen to disagree with them, but why is it smug?
