Baseball scoring question

    Infield hit. RBI if the run scores.

    Key to it was advance the runners.
    Sacrifice bunt, RBI, no hit.
    I was floored too first time I saw it.

    Slap, isn't that one of those that leaves discretion to the scorer?

    I was of the mindset that that play could be a hit and a RBI or a sacrifice and an RBI.

    That is a scorer's judgment call, but probably should he scored a hit. If pitcher fielded the ball cleanly, did not hesitate to make a play to first and the runner still beat it, it's a hit. Intent has nothing to do with it.
