I think he's kidding. That, or he just can't stand seeing the guy he used to dismiss as a singles hitter develop into a beast.

Either way, I'm smiling, mostly because I have Mauer on two fantasy baseball teams.

 

He's like Kyle Farnsworth, except he throws a few miles per hour slower, throws side-armed and looks like he'd be completely worthless in a basebrawl.

Wait ... he's nothing like Farnsworth ... except they both suck.

If Guzman or Marmol aren't on the mound, the Cubs' bullpen is pure failtastic fail. An inefficient offense and horrible bullpen are wasting one of the game's best starting rotations. It's disgusting.

I miss Will Ohman and Michael Wuertz. I can't believe I typed that. Fuck this noise.

And, to tell you all the truth, my entire Mr. Softee thing with Mauer has all been a put on.
I think the guy has always been a great hitter and it looks like his power is developing as he gets older.
