Fox can hit the cover off the ball. He's extremely powerful and hits for a high average. But I've seen him a few positions in person, and he can't play any of them. He'll be a DH in American League parks, and a pinch hitter and spot starter in NL parks. He'll be worth owning in a deep league.

Blanco is nothing special. I'm guessing he was brought up because they needed someone to backup Theriot at short with Miles on the DL. Fontenot and Freel aren't good options there.

All I know about the new lefty is that is numbers don't look too impressive, but he can't be much (if any) worse than Cotts.

Lincecum has an 84/19 K/BB ratio in 65 1/3 innings this season. He's struck out at least seven batters in every start since April 12. With the shutout win, he improved to 4-1 with a 3.01 ERA. He's slated to face the Nationals next time out.

Freel's not a good option anywhere.

But then neither is Miles. I didn't realize "suck" was something you could be DL'd for.

At least Freel sucks with speed and a tiny bit of pop.

    Miles sucks with ... uhh ... I don't know ... grit?

Are you suggesting that some of us might be asking about Fox for fantasy baseball purposes? :)

Yes. That was a spnited-centric comment.

Moddy, what do you think of Detwiler?

And Santana is 6-2 (no earned runs allowed in his 2 losses!), 75K/14BB in 60 IP, 1.50 ERA (293 ERA+) and has struck out 7 or more in 8 of his 9 starts (6 in the other). And he faces the Nats tonight.

And Grienke's sick numbers are far better than both of them.

ASIDE TO HAMMER AND OOP... Good luck in your fantasy leagues ::) ;D

Same here. I'm really hurting at third base in one of mine. :)

  11. Good news, Moddy. Nats DFA Cabrera.

Big Z with an epic meltdown following what looked like a good call at home plate, with Morgan sliding in around Z's tag to tie the game in the 7th.

I imagine he'll miss a start for that meltdown. He might have bumped the umpire, and he threw the ball into the bleachers and beat the shit out of a Gatorade machine. It was epic ... but the ump got the call right.
