As long as I get to continue to point out Greinke for Cy Young. :)

It's a nice head start for Texas, but it's still May. I still think the Angels will get it together esp. when they get Vlad back. And I think the A's will right the ship in June and July like they always do.

What a bonehead stunt by Lackey yesterday. You got your point across by throwing behind Kinsler the first pitch, you idiot. Instead you cost your team a game against a division rival, which is like loosing two games.

That's because he knows he started off last season well, too, before the five DL trips.

Hey, that's what happens when you've got the best manager in baseball running your team.

No mention of the massive Rays screw-up today?

Were intending to give Longoria a day off from the field, and DH him, but whoever was filling up the line-up card listed both him and Ben Zobrist as the starting third baseman.

As a result, the Rays had to forfeit their DH for the game, and Andy Sonnanstine had to hit in the 3-hole. Entering the game with a .400 average (12-30), he had an RBI double in his second at bat, and the Rays managed to win.

Can anyone else think of a manager and his coaches making such an error on the card?

Years ago, the Braves had some sort of lineup card screwup. The details will come to me eventually, though I suspect someone here remembers.

Jays bomb the ChiSox 8-2, Doc Halladay goes to 8-1. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how common/rare is it for a pitcher to win 10 games before the end of May? I assume it doesn't happen every year, but.....

Rob Dibble actually asked on the Nats' broadcast today how long it would take him to pass the Nats in wins. He has 8. They have 11. I say four more starts. Nats aren't winning again.

I think Mike Hargrove did something like that near the end of his Mariners stint. Or maybe it was with the Indians and it was referenced after he quit the M's a couple years ago.

And Moddy, look at it this way: At least the Nats will be famous for going 11-151.

My goal is to see a couple of rainouts to keep the L total under 150.

Years ago Phil Garner wrote Young twice instead of Yount (Robin) and Young (Mike) on the lineup card and the future Hall of Famer had to sit out the game.

Could anyone imagine if such a screwup had cost Cal Ripken Jr. a game in the middle of his streak?
