Good to see Lidge revert back to his old self.

They're working on dealing him to Boston for Manny Delcarmen.

He can blow his next 100 saves and he'll still never have to buy a drink in Philadelphia.

The Rangers are on their way to a sweep of the Astros and will lead the AL West by no fewer than 3 games at the end of today — even despite the Detroit debacle. McCarthy is through 8 and going for a CGSO.

Big Tex returns to the Ballpark with the Yankees tomorrow afternoon. That will be interesting. After that, the Rangers have a good chance of putting some real hay in the barn in interleague play against the NL West.

It didn't keep Francona from using Delcarmen in a 12-5 game.

A lot of good teams score four runs in six games and get swept by the Padres, right?

An undisclosed illness just before the game, according to the beat guys and gals.

He'd been on a seven-game hitting streak, too, and hit a long home run yesterday. Oh, well. It got Hoffpauir in the lineup against a righty. Not usually a bad thing.

Aaron Heilman has no business pitching on a Major League roster, especially a well-funded Major League roster.

He is a failure. No one can prove otherwise.

And the Pirates score twice with two outs in the ninth to knock off the Fightin' Pallisters. Too bad they'll get swept by the Cubs.

Wow, Heilman is worse in person than on TV. I warned the girlfriend, but she remains optimistic. I feel bad.
