spn, I was done with them weeks ago. Was planning on going to several games next month. The losers won't get one farthing from me.

Rays became the fastest team to 100 homers and 100 steals in a season on B.J. Upton's solo shot today.

Took them just 77 games. Big series with Toronto starts Monday.

Give Joe Morgan credit for pointing out early on that if K-Rod got Damon, the Mets could intentionally walk Jeter to face Rivera. He's usually not sharp enough to be on top of that kind of thing ... although as I wrote that sentence it occurred to me that some producer probably whispered it in his headphone. So never mind.

That is so true. WGN absolutely crushed their signal.

On the other hand, Channel 32 originated the Sportswriters on TV (at least that's where I first watched it), so they have that in their favor.

That's the gotta be the record for oldest player to get his first career RBI, right?

EDIT: Satchel Paige had his first at 45.

I gotta believe Paige holds the record -- too bad nobody ever knew how old he was. :D

    But he's got company:

Fred Johnson got his first RBI at 44 years old in 1938.
Diomedes Olivo got his first RBI at 43-7-30 in 1962.
David Wells got his first RBI at 41-3-9 in 2004.
Orlando Hernandez got his first RBI at 40-9-18 in 2006.
Frank Tanana got his first RBI at 39-9-26 in 1993.
Chuck Finley got his first RBI at 39-8-15 in 2002.
Alex McColl got his first RBI at 39 years old in 1933.
Joe Berry got his first RBI at 39 years old in 1944.
Bill Morrell got his first RBI at 38 years old in 1931.
Lou Koupal got his first RBI at 38 years old in 1937.
Connie Marrero got his first RBI at 38 years old in 1950.
Steve Reed got his first RBI at 38-2-15 in 2003.
Chi Chi Olivo got his first RBI at 38-1-23 in 1966.

Probably an incomplete list. Elias likely can fill in any gaps.

In case you missed it -- and judging from this thread, you did -- Tommy Hanson has pitched 20 straight scoreless innings. And yesterday became the first National League rookie to beat the Yanks and Sawx in back-to-back starts. Who was this guy he replaced again?

    Who are the Sawx?
