    Bullshit.

    Schilling never dogged it.

Unacceptable behavior to anyone who plays the game.

You are usually better than that.

After tonight's White Sox-Royals game, I see what you mean, DD. Even as a Sox fan, I felt sorry for Bruce Chen -- in fact, Mark Buehrle's been in those shoes many times himself.

I think in this series, first team to reach 3 runs will be declared the winner.

The furry thing has happened to visiting teams in Pittsburgh before.

Another snappy line from Brian Matusz tonight in Bowie:
IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
    Matusz (W, 3-0) 7.0 4 0 0 2 6 0 0.49

  7. I think the Red Sox would be happy to ship Julio Lugo and a mid level prospect to KC (and pay for 75% of Lugo's contract) in exchange for Mark Teahen.

Yeah but why would the Royals be happy to accept Lugo?

  9. As bad as Lugo has been for the Sox - he's better than what KC has.

Besides - he may just need a change of scenery where he's not under such a big microscope.

I don't think the Royals are going to move Teahen, especially since Alex Gordon's recovery has been slow and the last I heard he was still having trouble running.

I see your thinking there, Chris, but I doubt the Royals will bite.

    Oh, the Royals will bite.

  12. Teahen has always seemed like the red-headed stepchild from the KC front office point of view. They shifted him to the OF because of Gordon and then tried to shift him to 2nd because they liked other OF better. I'm not sure they will want to pay him $5 million plus in arbitration next season. They might be willing to move him and if Mike Lowell's health is worse than thought then the Red Sox may be their best trading partner.

Julio Lugo is more wishful thinking on my part than anything.
