Point is, Jason Bay will get into the Hall of Fame only when he pays the admission price...just like you or me.

No, he will be. Had he been busted for actually using steroids, the backlash would have been worse.

Pretty crazy doings in the K.C. right now:

    http://www.ranyontheroyals.com/2009/07/banned.html

(Summary: A prominent Royals blogger wrote that the team's longtime trainer should get fired after so many everyday players have been lost for the season because they were allowed to keep playing even after they were diagnosed with injuries. The team "banned" him -- even though he doesn't have credentials -- and won't let anyone in the organization appear on his radio show.)

Joe Poz writes pretty much the same thing about the team's behavior:

    http://joeposnanski.com/JoeBlog/2009/07/02/stupid-is/

Betcha he doesn't get "banned" ...

I saw that. Symbolic of why the Royals have sucked for so long, but also very consistent with David Glass' practices as the diabolical head of Wal-Mart.

Well, so much for the Rangers trading for a bat and an arm before the deadline. Hicks won't be able to pay them.

Hicks has changed directions more times than Gale Sayers — opening up the wallet one year to pay the likes of A-Rod, Andres Galarraga and Ken Caminiti, and then stopping just short of a fire sale the next.

Good riddance. Take your broke ass home, Tom.

Incredibly moving story of Lou Gehrig's final years. And if I haven't said it enough: read "Luckiest Man" by Jonathan Eig.

I have banned myself from Indians games.

  8. Hard to believe that the Cubs have a payroll of about $135 million but they don't have a single player deserving to be on the NL All-Star team. Ted Lilly is probably going to be the sole Cubs representative and his inclusion will probably keep a more deserving player like Johan Santana or Chris Carpenter off the team.

I think Rany is a duly accredited physician. He would know what he's talking about.

    Please.

The Royals' bark is much worse than their bite.
