Re: Hey Yankee Fans Get Off Your Arse

The new scoreboard doesn't prompt the fans as much as the old one did. Thus, the people in the expensive seat don't know when to make noise.

Phils have a pretty favorable schedule this month, too. Four with the Reds, three with the Pirates, all-star break, then four at the Marlins. Then they come back home for another week before heading out west.
If they can put together a nice stretch here, they can really create some space in the division.

Who was saying Cueto should have been an all star?

He *did* hold them to 9 in 2/3 of an inning.

You charge opera prices for a seat, you get an opera crowd.

Announcers just said Cueto's ERA went from 2.69 to 3.45 with that effort.

In his defense, the reliever gave up runs 8 and 9. ;D

To be fair, even with that implosion, his ERA is only 3.45. At the time the selections were made, he was fourth in the National League with a 2.69 ERA and tied for sixth in victories with eight. Cueto was a worthy candidate.

    And now it's 16-1 through four. Jumpin' jiminies, I smell a 20-spot.
Is there anything as perversely entertaining as an ass-kicking of this magnitude?

What did you expect from an opera, a happy ending?

You might be onto something, they already have the fat lady singing God Bless America. Maybe the opera fans are assuming it's all over.

Doug Melvin not happy with one Ryan Braun:

Damn, there are some great quotes in there. Haudricourt's pen probably resembled Randy Quaid's in "The Paper" when listening to Melvin.

"It writes like butter. There is actual butter coming out of my pen."
