I would probably be more concerned with the return. It just isn't realistic to expect the Phillies to take on that contract when they have nowhere to play the guy and they don't normally spend quite on that level.

Not much of a surprise given the recent "Real Sports" piece, but Lenny Dykstra has filed for bankruptcy:

The best thing for the White Sox is for Bartolo to remain AWOL.

It gets better for the Cubs. Ryan Dempster broke his toe celebrating Sunday's win over the Brewers. He could miss a month:

Has Zack Greinke lost it? 4.05 ERA in June, one middling start this month, getting jacked around early tonite.

Three runs through six innings is "quality". The fact that his shit-tastic offense has scored 0 runs for him in his last two starts isn't.

He'll likely have 5 losses after tonight. One was a 1-0 loss in LA. Another came in the last start against Chicago, where 2 of the 4 runs he gave up were unearned... and no runs scored. And another will be tonight, where everybody not named Billy Butler (3-3, 3 doubles) sucks.

Butler, by the way, is quietly starting to realize his potential. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up hitting over .300.... and I believe his defense at first has been way, way above expectations.

He turned it around, but the three runs came in the first two innings. As for it being "quality" -- six innings/three runs = middling start to me.
