    Interesting:

What could be the reasoning behind this?

The perfect definition of a middling start. Change the name!

I had quality in quotation marks. If anything will cost Greinke a shot at the Cy Young, it'll be that AAAA lineup.

    No doubt.

Not to mention the defense they play behind him. I wonder if losing Crisp in center field has hurt a little. Unless it has changed this year, Greinke is very much a fly ball pitcher.

I'm also wondering if it is just his pattern. Greinke started strong last year, too, though obviously not as dominant as he was in April and May this season. He struggled for a bit, then dominated down the stretch.

Looks like the Mets might piss this one away, too.

So if a guy finishes the year with a 4.50 ERA, is he considered a "quality" starting pitcher?
Never understood that definition for a quality start. It should be renamed. Maybe, a 'not terrible' start?

Brewers win after both teams combined to strand approximately 90 runners.

I was watching the Cardinals' postgame show and I am convinced now more than ever that covering Tony LaRussa on a daily basis would make me question my faith in humanity. What a disagreeable little bitch he is after a loss. God bless Rick Hummel for putting up with that on a regular basis.

He seems to be that way no matter what. Just remember... he's smarter than you. And me. And Stephen Hawking.

Andruw Jones, 3 homers in first 3 at-bats tonight in Anaheim.

Popped out in the 6th, but might get one more shot.

Man, I picked the wrong night to go Angel Stadium this week.
