Looks like the Phillies finalized their deal with Pedro Martinez. I wonder how much he has left in the tank.

    Yes, you are correct ...

Also, Thomas Boswell reporting the Nationals have yet to contact Strasburg other than to offer the required minor-league contract, which keeps him from becoming a free agent:

How many other folks out there think this Strasburg situation is going to go sideways on the Nationals?

If he doesn't sign, they will just draft him again, I think.

Incorrect. The Nationals waive the rights to draft him again if he doesn't sign.

Exactly. They can't draft him again. So it is a disaster for them if they can't sign him and he has Scott Boras as his agent. They are either going to lose him or give him a lot more money than they should.

Story moved last night that Phils signed Pedro for $1 mill for rest of season plus $1.5 mill in incentives.
He also is going on the DL with a shoulder strain and will then do rehab before being ready to join the rotation.

I figured you would be plenty happy with looking at the back of Mauer's head. :D

Rockies radio announcer, since their inception, Jeff Kingery got suspended from most of the rest of the team's road games after a verbal outburst last month in L.A.

What's getting into play by play guys lately? First Bill Webber on TNT, now this guy.
