My deep, abiding, unapologetic, possibly toxic love for '80s baseball.

Oh, there are eight million stories, and Warren Brusstar is one of them.

The Rays are having a post-game concert tonight, which means they must also have won.

9-0 over the last two seasons now after a walk-off 3-2 win against the Marlins.

I think I heard Todd Kalas said 11-0 on the postgame.

Benatar was pretty good last night. Figure she should be just as good tonight.

Brewers allow two in the top of the ninth to go down 6-4, come back and score three in the bottom half to win 7-6. That's more like it.

You mean teams besides the Cubs lose in that fashion?

The difference is, the Cubs lose that way at least three times a week. Other teams do it once or twice a month.

It may be that. Goodness knows it's bringing some kind of good karma, and a big crowd, to the Trop.

Interesting that Maddon said tonight he thinks the team is now expecting to win close games late, as opposed to earlier in the season when they were just hoping for it to happen.

Rays bullpen has really come together in the last month or so and they're trying to become the quickest team in MLB history to get to 100 HR/100 SB before the All-Star Break. They need one more homer to cross that plateau (already have 114 steals). Odds are good; the Tilt-a-dome is the only MLB park to see a homer in every game this year.

Pitching is vastly superior than it was a month ago — it's not just the bullpen — and the offense is so good it's scary (for other teams, that is). Fun fact: On May 28 the Rays were 23-27. A month later they're 41-35.

For Chris Perez and a PTBNL ... nice deal for both sides.

That sucks balls for any NL Central fan, but Cubs fans must be apoplectic.
