folks saying there's an ambulance on the field in Pittsburgh. Anybody know what's up?

edit: apparently a fan fell over a rail trying to catch a foul ball. Landed head first.

What stiffs those fans are in the Yankee stadium luxury seats. 2 outs 2 strikes and 2 mne on base - Burnet pitching to Youk Entire stadium standing except those in the luxury seats who are seated with their hands on their ass.

Batting average on posts in perspective.

And we all know BYH's VORP is 0. He's the ultimate waiver-wire poster.

He probably still looked better than half the outfielders the Pirates have.

I'm designated for assignment a lot. I'm on the Webby-to-Fallout Shelter shuttle. I'm Shea Hillenbrand: Major league attitude, minor league production.

And the Cubs' level of suckage remains high since Aaron Fucking Miles came off the DL.

    Coincidence? I think not.

    Oh, and fuck Notre Dame.

MLB.com is claiming the White Sox set a new franchise mark and tied an AL record by turning six double plays via the ground ball against the Indians tonight.

The important distinction is "via the ground ball." The AL record for double plays in a game remains 7, turned by the Yankees against the Philadelphia A's on Aug. 14, 1942.

(The NL record is also 7, turned by the '69 Astros, '82 Braves and '94 Cardinals, although only Houston accomplished this in a nine-inning game.)

The Indians, coincidentally, turned six double plays earlier this year, against the Royals on April 21.

Quite a matchup in NY: Papelbon vs. Jeter in the bottom of the 10th, two runners on, two outs.
