MLB on XM is reporting Adam LaRoche is going to be dealt to the Braves per Gordon Eades at Yahoo.com

A-Rod has been slumping, too, lately. He sucks.

Name a player who doesn't go through slumps.

Great trade for the Sox: You don't need to sign the uber-mega-stud. I think Theo has shown he knows how to fit pieces together.

He's only slugging 6 points better than Jason Varitek, and he doesn't catch every day. What is the big deal with him?

Yeah. They're following the Pirates' lead. Everything must go!

That makes a lot more sense, although you wonder why they picked him up in the first place.

Could it be to get better prospects back than those they gave up to the Pirates?

He's likely to be better than that & Varitek is likely to be worse, he can play 1st with varitek at C when Lowell can't play, and I think he's a bit better than Kotsay or LaRoche.

They didn't know they would get Martinez?

Except NESN is reporting the Red Sox got back Casey Kotchman. Different names, same log jam.

Yeah? With Martinez, Youkilis, Varitek, Ortiz and Lowell (and maybe LaRoche, if that trade doesn't go through) , I'd say he has a few too many of the same piece. And the third prospect Theo gave up was a first-round pick, albeit one struggling in class high-A right now.

The Padres can't really be considering dealing Adrian Gonzalez to the Dodgers, can they?

Well, ok, then that returns us to, 'this makes little sense.'
