Big sweep for the Reds this weekend, and with St. louis looking very vulnerable, the Reds should be able to help themselves a lot over the next three days.

Here's what I learned from the Emmy-award winning Sunday Night crew:

Tim Salmon introduced by Jon Miller in the starting lineup, is "a former Angel".

Moe Jorgan, explaining why Chone Figgins hit a home run in the first inning: "What happened was, he just reacted to it."

Moe Jorgan, after Grady Sizemore flubbed a Morales fly ball:  "It seemed like he got there in time to catch it, but when he hit the wall, it bounced out."  The replay showed that the wall had nothing to do with it.

Moe Jorgan, the meteroologist: "I think there's some weather in the area".

All that was in the first inning.  Jorgan spent about the whole second inning explaining what base each infielder is supposed to cover on a throw from the outfield, after which my head was spinning to the point of explosion.

    Those two announcers suck ass.

One of the reasons the Mets brought Milledge up to replace Nady was to give him a taste of the bigs and hope some of the professionalism of guys like Carlos Delgado, Julio Franco and Cliff Floyd would rub off on him.
There have been many reports of too much flash and too much showboating at Norfolk and some in the Mets hierarchy think he needs to learn "how to act like a pro"

In other words, some in the Mets hierarchy think he should be run through the Roush Racing personality remover?

Yeah, Vols, but last year you just knew the Angels didn't have a chance to go to the World Series, although they won their second straight division title and beat the mighty Yankees. ::)
That of course was in comparison to the 2002 team, whom everyone picked to march straight to the world title at the start of that postseason. ::)

20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing, and "Joe Morgan" and "condescending" are in the same thesaurus entry.

If I had a choice between him standing at the plate and admiring his first shot or slapping hands with the fans because he was excited about what he did, I'll definitely take the latter.

That's the only thing I agree with Miller-Morgan on, from what you listed. But even then, why would the Devil Rays even think about trading him?

Ken Rosenthal floated the possibility of the Rays trading Crawford to lessen their glut of young stud outfielders (Crawford, Baldelli, Batboy Young, Elijah Dukes, even Joey Gathright)...he's their most tradable commodity and he has a very friendly contract. Of course, that's precisely the reason the Rays should hold on to him, that and he can do just about anything with a bat in his hands. I still find it hard to believe they signed Baldelli to a long-term extension DURING the season he missed and Young strikes me as a bad, bad guy. Let someone else deal with his crap.

They really did say last night something to the effect of: "Imagine how the Angels would have done if Bartolo Colon was healthy in the ALDS last year, as the Yankees came back to win two straight.... " and Miller cut off from there. Leaving the impression that the Yankees won the series.

The #1 ESPN baseball crew doesn't even know who won an ALDS series last year. Un-real.

I thought we were just supposed to assume the Yankees won. Everything. All the time. 173-0.

Get up, get up, get out of here, GONE! The Brewers are out of contention!

Congrats Moddy, on the Nats' sweep. Seven days ago, the Brewers were right on the Reds' heels, now, they're slumming down with the Cubs and Pirates.

Remember the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Yosemite Sam would lose his inheritance if he swore? I'm now going to shut my door ...

BYH, I'm told Gary Cohen was in the press room when the appendicitis hit him. Then, very soon after that, he was ... out of here. I, too, hope he's back quickly.

As for Milledge, he was talked to by Randolph immediately after that inning and reports are that Cliff Floyd will have him up on charges in the clubhouse court.
