Wasn't that fucking tough. Get in front of the ball and at worst he's safe at first. But you have to make that play.
Nice play by Giles. Hudson has pitched better than to be down 4-2.

Nats will probably find a way to fuck it up but I'm enjoying this inning.

Bravos looking like a little league team.

Cubbies, on the other hand, kicking ass again. 5-0 in the third.

It ain't exactly Lou Brock, but Cubs fans hae to be cursing over the Cory Patterson deal. The two suspects they got in return are both getting killed in the Florida State League while Patterson leads the ML in steals and has been hitting well lately.

On two occassions this year, I've posted that looking at Pierre's and Patterson's stats side-by-side has made me throw up in my mouth. Also, Nolasco was one of the three prospects it took to get Pierre. And all three pitched in a game when Florida beat them. Ugh.

But, as a positive, Jaque Jones is finally looking like a right fielder at the plate. Hitting almost .310 and just hit his 11th bomb.

I can sniff Braves implosions with Hudson on the mound from a mile away. it's a gift.
he was bouncing in and out of trouble like mr. magoo for the first four innings. had to see this inning coming, particularly with the defensive retardation this team shows on a regular basis.

Zimmerman should be up now. I'm pissed.

Those "prospects" were fringe players at best. Pure dump move by the Cubs at the time. Amazing how many steals one can pile up if you actually get on base.

Sure enough, the Nats are in the process of fucking it up.

Betemit coming up to pinch hit and he uses the Nats.

That's why I called them suspects. I've seen them both play in the past. Patterson simply making the Orioles gave them the better end of the deal. The second baseman the Cubs have, if he's lucky, could end up playing for a team that's Kansas City-ish. Otherwise they got nothing.

Maybe none. The Nats announcers were just raving about him, saying the Braves had to find an everyday spot for him and soon.
    But where?

Can someone please tell me the last time either the Red Sox or Yankees were not on ESPN*? Oh look - they are on again Wednesday!

    * - Offseason doesn't count

I don't meant to interrupt natscubsSportsJournalists.com, but the Pirates have quietly developed a FOURTH young starter. ... If Perez ever figures it out, those four -- Perez, Duke, Maholm, Snell -- could be lethal. It may not matter that they;re going to trade Burnitz, Casey, Randa and Craig Wilson at the break.

Snell's about to 4-0 in last four starts, with 8 ER in 23 innings. ERA just over 3 if my math is right.

    Go Bucs!
