I'm no Philly fan, but I'm also flabbergasted as to what the hell their problem is. First thing I'd do is fire Charlie Manuel. After that, well, maybe I was wrong. I'd prefer not to think so though.

The Phils pitching is just bad Headbutt.

Defense is shaky too, at least it has been lately. But yeah, the big problem is starting pitching. A real stud in the rotation could change everything for them. Could Abreu and prospects get them a quality starter, like Zito or Dontrelle?

Would Oakland or Florida take on Abreu's contract?

Not that I'm comparing him to Cy Young, but I think when Lieber returns it'll help. Madson was pitching well in the bullpen and is now back to starting again. I still expect Rowand to make a difference now that he's healthy again.

    Good point. Probably not.

Or delusional people blinded by their disdain for the Mets.

It's over. Great run, Braves. At least it ended in resounding fashion. [/trying to jinx the inevitable]

    It's done dickhead.
Beltran, Delgado and Wright already have combined for 50 HR and 148 RBI.

Mets have a bigger lead than the other division leaders combined (5 1/2 games).

The second-place Phils are closer to last (6 1/2 games) than first.

I just threw up in my mouth.

To briefly threadjack... how the hell does Sam Holbrook still have an umpiring job? That guy's run more managers than all of his fellow umps combined for arguing balls and strikes. That guy needs QuesTec.

OK, back to arguing about real baseball. ;D

    I was one of them.

Glavine has come back to earth... and it hasn't mattered a whit.

And Pedro hasn't hit that DL stretch I was counting on.

Phillies have been fucking, inexcusably awful.

    Oh well.
