Buck Showalter walked Bonds with the bases loaded in the 9th inning in 1998:

On May 28, with Arizona leading the San Francisco Giants 8-5, Greg Olson began the bottom of the ninth inning by striking out Darryl Hamilton, but the Giants then loaded the bases with two walks and a hit before Stan Javier had an RBI grounder that made it 8-6. After pinch-hitter J.T. Snow walked to load the bases, manager Buck Showalter ordered Olson to intentionally walk Barry Bonds, forcing home a run, and bringing up Brent Mayne, who worked the count full before he lined to right field for the third out.

Moddy, what group do you think we belong to -- the pricks or the assholes?

(And I believe you're right that it's a generational thing.)

Lastings Milledge makes his Mets debut tonight. Am I the only one who thinks he'll be a disappointment?

Lou beat me to the punch with the Milledge era. But I'll stick with my initial comment.

Well, I suppose that's an upgrade over Buchholz. I kind of wanted him to return to Fenway, just to see it happen, but I do take pleasure in Red Sox Nation not getting everything it wants.

FWIW, the Astros' GM was just on Fox radio completely denying it. Says as far as he knows it's still a four-team race.

In case any of y'all forgot, Andruw Jones is an above-average centerfielder.
