If the Yankees were going to lose a game today, I wish it would've been the Ponson game.

I'm guessing no 20 wins for Mussina for sure now.

Morneau with two more ribbies so far today, giving him 122.

    Reeking of MVP.

Bartolo Colon looks like a beached whale out there.

    5-2 Jays in the second.

I can't believe the Jays could be within 5 1/2 of the wild card after tonight.

Baseball Prospectus ran a million simulations of the remainder of the season and the Jays made it to the playoffs less than 2 percent.

If the Blue Jays take two from the Red Sox today, though, I could see those percentages rising a bit.

But if the Jays lose tomorrow, that percentage drops. For Toronto to have any hope, they need to win tonight and tomorrow.

Good point. If they hang on tonight (which is in jeopardy) and win tomorrow, they would be within 4 1/2. That is unreal.

    Morneau with a two-RBI single. 124.

That ties Hamilton for the AL lead.

It would have been interesting to see the A.L. East and Wild Card races if the Jays hadn't putzed around for the first half of the season.

On a completely unrelated note, Jon Niese is dealing in Flushing.

Untrue. If they played in the NL West they'd win 120 games this year.
