    No.

Their best offensive player has been Jorge Cantu.

And Ramirez has been an absolute butcher at short. His iron glove has flat-out cost the Marlins a few games this year.

The MVP actually should be Pujols, no matter what.

He has been hitting big homers, too. His team has simply been losing more often.

1.106 OPS???? are you f-ing kidding me.

Pujols should be it, no matter what the next two weeks.

Ummm...you're going to vote for Cantu b/c Ramirez is a butcher in the field?

The same Cantu who is on his third position at "26?"

Both have been butchers, Ramirez also folds like a pup tent with the bases-loaded, late in games, take your pick.

    Cantu has been clutch.

I'm not gonna go back and search the thread, but people definitely said Howard would not and should not win, that his low BA and high K's were too much to ignore. And this was like, a week ago. That was also around the time that a Philly fanboi, Rumpleforeskin, I believe, congratulated the Mets on winning the NL East. How's that looking now? My point is, I don't understand the rush to make these final pronouncements when we've seen that these things ebb and flow. They change from week to week, even game to game. And if you think the Mets are dead in the water off of 2 losses to the Nats when they're tied in the loss column for first place and they lead the wild card, that's just silly, no matter what happened last year.

They have to win out, and they would be in.

    A lot to hope for.

Maybe they can take a strategic single loss.

They aren't chasing four. They're chasing three, they're tied with St. Louis and the Cardinals are cratering.

They win the next two and they've caught the Astros and are hot on Milwaukee's heels.

How is this any crazier than what the Rockies did last year?

Here's one scenario I can actually see happening:

Marlins at Mets for final 3 games at Shea, wild card on the line -- Phils will have clinched by then -- Johan is on rotation to pitch the final game.
It will be intersting to see if he earns his fucking money or eats shit like the great Tom Glavine did last year.

I have no idea about pitching match-ups but if you look at the teams still within shouting distance of the WC, Florida is the only one playing worth a shit right now and five of their remaining games are against two of teams in front of them.

Seriously, Santana will pitch the final game as the Mets rotation is currently set up.
