I think Street had pitched in something like seven of the last eight games, or something like that.

Bigger question is, where the hell was Sherrill or Broxton in the 9th and 10th for the Dodgers?

There is no time limit for home run review calls, correct?

California-Detroit, Granderson hits one, which looked like it hit a ledge ontop of the scoreboard in right field, bounces back into play and he ends up with a triple.

Umpires took about 10 minutes (maybe a little more) on the review, which kept the ruling as a triple.

Didn't matter since Polanco hit a triple and ended up scoring on a sac fly.

I just had never seen a review take that long.

Christ. Miguel Cabrera is locked the fuck in right now.

Three straight games with a home run and nine RBI since Monday.

EDIT: Nevermind. Three homers over his past four games.

Upon further review, the White Sox suck. I think they're on a streak in which they haven't scored more than five runs in about 20-some games. Tonight, in the eighth inning of a 3-3 game, they put runners on first and third with no outs. Then Dye popped out, A.J. struck out and Rios popped out. I'm ready for some football.

That be the guy. He's won 39 games (and counting) in the last three years.

You forgot Ray "Burger" King, though; he was the other player the Cards got. In hindsight, not a good deal for the Braves, but Marquis was never going to win in Atlanta so it was basically Wainwright for Drew. Oh well.

OK, Red Sox fans tell me what ya know about Chris Carter ---almost 27 year old career minor leaguer (ugh!) who apparently will be playing for the Mets in a week as part of the Wagner deal.

All he does is catch touchdowns.

He could be a solid fit for the Mets. He's not an everyday player, but will obviously need to do that for the Mets. He has good present power, hits well against both left and right handed pitchers. He plays both the outfield and first base, but has spent most of his career at first base.

Not a great fielder nor is he a great runner, but he'll hit for average and he'll drive in runs.

In 121 games with the Paw Sox in 2008, Carter hit .300 with 24 home runs, 84 runs batted in. He strikes out a bit much, though.

He was acquired from the Washington Nationals in August, 2007 when the Red Sox traded Willy Mo Pena.

Did I wake up this morning to the news that the Nats crushed the Cubs at Wrigley? Cause, um, that's not supposed to happen.

Nice to see J-Will bust out of his slump. And Dukes to get a huge hit. And a starting pitcher last more than 1 1/3 innings.
