Cubs host the Mets this weekend. This has epic fail written all over it.

Wouldn't it be great if it was the Mets. Twins claimed Harden as well.

    Mets logic:
We suck, we need a starter, Heilman sucks and always wanted to be a starter ... perfect fit for the rest of the season.

And then Heilman the starter goes 5-0 in September, and the Mets offer him $36 million for 3 years, and then Heilman throws out his shoulder in spring training.

Heilman couldn't go 5-0 against the Chula Vista Little League team.

    A) Nice Chula Vista reference.

    B) Chula Vista's offense isn't as vaunted as it was in the middle part of the decade, so Heilman would have a sportin' chance.

Are you a Mets fan who loathes what the Wilpon family has done with your franchise? Bernie Madoff might be your savior...

Kazmir still has his moments, but he's really underachieved in the last couple years.

    Did Kazmir clear waivers yet?

If I were a contending team, I'd put a claim on him, if for no other reason than to block the Angels from getting him.

    [IMG] 2muchcoffeeman dislikes this.

Also, here's a reTweet less than 60 seconds old from the SP Times' Rays beater, Marc Topkin: "Still nothing from the #Rays confirming Kazmir trade to Angels. He's been on phone walking around clubhouse."
