I'm just glad the great Joe Buck comes down from his perch every week to do baseball and football games for us mortal schmucks.

The next time Evil Bastard (aka Chris L) starts a thread early, we should beat him with a crowbar.

Somebody help me out. I was looking for Baseball Thread No. 8: The Ocho, and I ended up here.

And hey, what's Lance Armstrong doing on this thread???

You said young players, not young position players. The guys they traded for Peavy are young players.

And you may have mentioned Rios, but there is still nothing wrong with another poster adding in that the Rios acquisition does not fit into your suggestion.

I figured by prefacing the young players statement with saying the team needed to get rid of Thome, Konerko and Dye, you'd make the connection the two statements were connected. I keep giving you too much credit.

You could try, but it probably wouldn't be humorous.

You also brought up Contreras in your post. You keep giving yourself too much credit.

Edit: And your little games aside, trading young pitchers for Peavy and taking on Rios's contract still doesn't fit into the philosophy you were suggesting.

It's amazing how, when Elijah Dukes comes to the plate, the strike zone gets 6 inches wider on both sides.

    There's karma for you.
